LOS ANGELES, CA — June 12, 2013 — POPSUGAR Inc., a global media and technology company at the intersection of content and commerce, today announced the addition of two new executives: Colette Dill-Lerner and Chris George. Both will be supporting POPSUGAR’s growth and expansion and providing new tools, insights, and opportunities for brand partners.
Dill-Lerner served as the former VP of Internet Marketing at Guthy-Renker and managed the digital demand creation department for the domestic Guthy-Renker brands. George joins POPSUGAR from SpinMedia, formerly known as BUZZMEDIA, where he served as Executive VP of Marketing Solutions and oversaw program development of integrated partnerships across marketing platforms.
“We are fortunate to have both Colette and Chris join us at this very exciting time at POPSUGAR,” stated founder and CEO Brian Sugar. “Colette’s track record in advertising tech and creating customer-centric marketing programs is what attracted us to her. Chris’s innovative development and execution of advertising solutions for brand partners and his passion points in analytics will support brand and audience engagement in a unique way.”
Dill-Lerner will build POPSUGAR’s marketing infrastructure and platforms for new audience discovery and engagement. “It is my hope to develop innovative advertising technology tools for the POPSUGAR brands that will allow ease for audiences to find us,” said Dill-Lerner. “We have an opportunity to tactically and creatively engage new consumers and retain and invigorate our very loyal existing audience.”
George will lead POPSUGAR’s charge in the development of advertising solutions for brands across all platforms, including execution of integrated brand campaigns. “I am focused on analyzing consumer behavior and using these insights to develop new solutions, which allow our brand partners to more effectively engage POPSUGAR’s valuable audience,” stated George.
Dill-Lerner is a digital marketing leader, specializing in new user acquisition across historical and emerging digital media channels. Prior to her role at Guthy-Renker, she served as a Managing Partner at Tomato Farm Marketing whose clients included Pinnacle Direct Response, The Los Angeles Times, and Alena. She also held a prior role at Guthy-Renker in its Home division as VP of Marketing, where she managed all Internet marketing including media buying, site development, creative development, and customer communication and retention. Dill-Lerner will report directly to Brian Sugar.
A web solutions and marketing expert, George spent close to four years at Myspace, where he developed the company’s monetization strategy and was instrumental in launching a full suite of advertising products. George has also held management positions at IGN Entertainment, where he oversaw advertising products, sales development, and market intelligence, and at FCB in San Francisco, where he led accounts for clients such as Hewlett-Packard, SEGA, Palm, and LucasArts into the emerging world of digital marketing.
